i like this font because it says playful and chatty. it also uses part of a vintage typeface to create a unique style. with this font, you can personalize everything. create a new document with it and make sure you set it as the font of your choice.
at first glance, it’s a serif font, but it features slight imperfections so it’s very readable. the best part is that it’s free! i think it’s a good font for all kinds of design applications. this is an opentype font with 14 weights and, if you are an ubuntu user, the ubuntu font family is also available as a variable font. as are gengo and passif, both designed by igor veselovsky.

museo slab, designed by michael ehrlich and released by hoefler&co, is the best slab-serif font that has ever been created. it has single-weighted characters, which means the sizes are different. however, it does have two, so you can mix and match.
raleway is the typeface of the future. it makes you instantly feel like you are in the future. it is the typeface of the future because of its use of angles, curves, and other various things that are not in style yet. as you get to know raleway, you will see what i mean. it is a definite strong favorite of mine. it creates a futuristic feel that any type designer wants to use. i really can’t believe that this is a free font. it is one of the best of free fonts that you will ever see.
helvetica neue is one of the most popular typefaces of all time. there is quite a line of fontshop versions out there and all have a modern feel. however, the fontshop originals and the didot versions are truly classics. maybe they are not cutting edge anymore, but we still love them.
sandcastle is a free font by tankorgraphix labs. it is meant to be a free font that pays homage to a variety of typefaces from the past. it is inspired by the types of the architects and artists of the area. tankorgraphix labs is headed by r. stephenson bell. you can also see his work at his website . steve has been involved with a variety of publishing and other projects over the years. i interviewed him at the fontfest west fair in 2016 and i always enjoy chatting with him. this font was actually created before the google fonts list was ready. there are a bunch of other fonts that have been created.
