Programming is a process of trial and error, with various mistakes to be made, and testing one of the most important parts. Different versions of a product become available, some even being small updates to fix specific issues. To check the current iteration of a file, FileVersions can easily scan the content of a folder, and enlist this for everything inside.
Can be used on the go
A good thing is the application skips you the effort of pressing a few “next” buttons to set up the application, meaning it can be used from a thumb drive on other computers as well. What’s more, it doesn’t need to modify anything in system registries, thus not having any impact on the computer you use it on.
The visual design is simple, with all features wrapped around a clean, classic window frame, with no accommodation problems. Unfortunately, loading a folder to have its content analyzed needs to be done through the built-in browse dialog, because drag and drop is not a supported operation, and no context menu entry is created in this regard.
Set up file filters, and analyze results
Search doesn’t start right away, giving you the chance to configure a few extra things in the meantime. One available option is to include subdirectories for a wider range of files to be scanned, while a dedicated field gives you the possibility to filter according to extension by simply writing them down.
Hitting the “search” button initiates the scan process. It usually takes little time to display results, but this only depends on the amount of files inside the selected directory. Items are shown in a table, with column headers for name, path, and version, and possibility to filter according to these values. Nothing can be changed though, and there’s no option to save the list to file.
On an ending note
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that FileVersions is sure to come in handy when you really need to know the version of a program, but it’s not really easy to reach, or available on the download location. However, even with this application you need to be lucky enough for the developer to include the version number to be able to view it.

In this article, we report the case of a 7-year-old girl with an unusual type of blepharophimosis, ptosis, and syndromic ocular involvement. The main symptoms were keratoconjunctivitis sicca and optic atrophy. This syndrome was associated with the neurocutaneous syndrome. A multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification analysis was performed to detect microdeletions of the short arm of chromosome 8, and an abnormal signal was detected in 7p13, which is the same region in which the paired box gene (PAX3) is localized. The identification of an abnormal signal in the microarray analysis indicates that this case is not sporadic in nature.

Tarrytown, N.Y., Jan. 26, 2018 — The Department of Energy today announced the 2018 Summer Student Scientific Internships. This third year of the program has expanded to include more companies in all of the energy sectors.
DOE will pay up to $5,500 for each summer student internship for the next year. Interns will be paired with companies that are meeting NSF requirements. Interns have a variety of tasks, including research and development, monitoring and testing, networking, building design and systems design.
“We are proud to offer these opportunities to talented and enthusiastic students interested in pursuing a career in the nuclear energy field,” said Jeff Poulin, deputy assistant secretary for legislative affairs. “The partnerships we have with industry, academia and academia-to-industry could not be the same without the dedicated young people who are eager to take part in these educational activities.”

These days, digital assistants are available on pretty much any device; even cars! Granted, it’s not always easy to find them, but what if you could find your service provider’s digital assistant – or even a Google assistant – on your own phone or other device? That was the aim of a team of researchers, who call their service “VowelBuster.”
The name is a tad ironic, because the app isn’t about speaking, but about transmitting information from one device to another. Whether that be from your phone to a smartwatch, or even from a smartwatch to your phone!
How does it work?
Using a newly discovered Wi-Fi technology called “direct-peer communication,” it’s possible to take advantage of two devices sharing the same Wi-Fi network. If you send a message to one of the devices, it’s sent directly to the other, without having to go through one of the usual intermediaries like a server.
Making use of this technology, “VowelBuster” allows for sending one type of information – for example a phone number to your smartwatch – to the other device. The message would be sent through a Wi-Fi direct communication channel, and the services of a Wi-Fi router would not be necessary in this case.
But wait, there’s more!
The application is capable of connecting using Bluetooth, and it will also work with a Wi-Fi connection. This makes it possible to send information from a remote server and connect directly to the user’s device, allowing for new possibilities in the future, like communicating with a smartwatch directly without a phone in your pocket.
What are the requirements?
“VowelBuster” can be used with iOS, Android, and Windows, but you must have Wi-Fi on both sides – even in the case of Bluetooth connections – to make use of the technology. A proprietary technology was used for the direct peer Wi-Fi communication, so unfortunately it will not be possible to use it on Wi-Fi routers, so you’ll have to use a personal hotspot if you’re looking to make use of the service.
How to use “VowelBuster”
Once you’ve downloaded and installed the application, it can be used both from

Apple launched the new 2018 line of Macbooks on October 25th. We’ve reviewed the new MacBook Pros, and now it’s time to take a look at their entry-level models, the MacBook Airs. There are two new models available with MacBook Air 13.3-inch and 15-inch models both featuring similar specs, except for the storage capacity.
As expected, the 13.3-inch MacBook Air features a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of memory, a 750 GB hard disk drive, a built-in display that supports the resolution up to 2560×1600 pixels, a half-size USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, a Thunderbolt 2 connector that supports up to 5 Gbps transfer rate, a webcam, and a keyboard with backlit keys. Both versions of the MacBook Air are equipped with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
The only thing that is missing is Touch ID support, which is a shame, because it’s going to be a pricey device.
Apart from that, the 15-inch MacBook Air offers the same specs as the 13.3-inch model, with the only difference being the display resolution to 2560×1600 pixels.
The 13.3-inch MacBook Air starts at $999 for base models, the 13-inch MacBook Air with 128 GB of memory will cost you $1,299, while the 13.3-inch MacBook Air with 256 GB of memory will set you back $1,799. The 15-inch MacBook Air will cost you $1,499 for base models, $1,999 for the 128 GB configuration, and $2,999 for the 256 GB model.
According to our benchmarks, the 2016 MacBook Air is the fastest 13-inch and the 15-inch model, including all Intel and AMD processors.
Now let’s have a look at Windows and Mac OS:
The new MacBook Pro with Retina display is even thinner than the previous iteration, as it has a thickness of only 0.71 inches, and offers innovative features like Touch ID, which allows users to unlock the device and unlock the Mac app Store with a single swipe,
