sketchup is being worked on. the workaround is to run your program without the “–print_time” option. sketchup will abort and return the error message, “bad program arguments or command line arguments”.
the replicatorg software is free (as in beer), but they do have a free plan which is limited to 100 projects, 20 iterations per project, and 30 gb of storage. if you need more than that, you will need to upgrade to their paid plan. the makerbot is a commercial product and their open source code is available. you can download it from here ( click on the link below the image).
i dont get it why these plugins are downloadable as rbz, i have a mess trying to unzip that, i have to change the filename directly to zip instead of downloading it with the rbz extension, if i download with rbz extension it is a nightmare trying to unpack it correctly, it just adds nother rbz file in the zip file, but that isnt the main issue since i did get the files correctly unzipped, so its the initial question that is importantwhy it doesnt show up in sketchup at all.
hi. all. my name is ronnie and im a newbie to sketchup and 3 d printing. i have successfully designed a open box with a sloping top. 80mm wide x 65mm deep x 20mm and 10mm high. my problem is i want the 4 vertical edges to be curved. i can easily do this with the push/pull tool if the box is not sloping. but i cant make it work when it is sloped. drawing the end profile and pulling from the side works great until there is a radius involved. then it doesnt work. can anyone tell me how to achieve this simply please. thank you in advance regards to all ronnie.
i started with a free version of sketchup i think it was 8.5, and ended up with a subscription later. i just don’t have the time for learning 3d as a hobby. i just want to make something simple and print it, so i’m happy with the sketchup i have. my question is what’s the best way to learn how to draw in 3d modeling software? is that what i should do, or is there a better way to learn?
looking for a good tutorial for 3d modeling in sketchup 8.5. i have a decent understanding of autocad. i would like to understand the basics of how to create a 3d model of an arch to use in a video game.
i just started using sketchup and now i am trying to make a box (see the sketchup file in the attachment.) i am stuck trying to make a bottom to the box. i tried to make the corner of the bottom but it wouldn’t work. when i tried to make the bottom i only get half of the picture. i tried to use the extension to make it work but it doesn’t work. can you help me. thanks
i am having difficulty with the curve tool in sketchup. i have been using autocad for years but always found it a bit cumbersome and slow. i am trying to convert some of my plans for a custom designed wall into 3d geometry. i made a model of the wall before and was able to manipulate the corners. i can’t figure out how to manipulate the curves so that i can cut and move them to their desired location.
